COVIDSafe Considerations

  • Social distancing
    • Social distancing of 1.5 metres between persons when handling boat
  • Wearing a mask
    • A fitted face mask is not required outdoors, however where social distancing cannot be maintained masks must be worn, as per the Chief Health Officer directions. A mask must be carried by each rower and sweep.
  • Maintenance of personal hygiene
    • Hand sanitiser: rowers and sweep to bring hand sanitiser to training session
    • Disinfectant: wipes to clean down gunwale and seat at each rowing/sweep position
    • Other considerations: – bring own water bottles and towels – bring your own sponge and take it away after training – only put hands on the boat on the gunwale next to your seat – Arrive ready to train – ‘get in, train, get out’
  • Maximum capacity of boat = 5 (4 rowers and one sweep)
  • Use of QR Code system BEFORE accessing facility
    • Personal Health checklist (self-assessment)
  • One person in a crew must be trained as a CovidSafe Officer
  • Cleaning of area/equipment
    • No spare oars to be stored with the boat unless surf training
    • Oars to be numbered and each rower to only handle their allocated oar
    • Each oar to be wiped down before and after use
    • Sweep to bring own equipment, e.g. whistle
    • Clean boat at end of each session and between crew changes
    • Clean any shared equipment between crews (e.g. oars)
    • Boat cover and trailer contact points to be cleaned after boat is parked

COVIDSafe Considerations

    • A fitted face mask must be worn at all times inside (eating and drinking excepted, exercise which leaves you out of breath or puffing excepted), as per the Chief Health Officer directions

    • Disinfectant: available for chairs, tables, high touch surfaces such as bar (bar staff)
    • Other considerations: – used glasses placed directly in dishwasher (bar staff / RSA only have access to kitchen), – used bottles and cans placed directly in appropriate recycling bins – payment by PayWave preferred (no touch) – cash payments to be avoided where possible – bar staff utilise gloves or hand sanitise before and after handle tender – air flow through the hall / bar to be maintained throughout use by leaving doors and windows open (where possible)

    • Other considerations: – every gym user to bring own towel to gym session for mopping perspiration

    • other air flow options such as opening of roller door will be implemented where practicable
  • Maximum capacity of WSLSC gym = 3
    • Gym users only. No children or spectators.
    • Additional users can take equipment outside (within Club grounds or on beach) to ensure maximum capacity is not exceeded
    • Users to be mindful of time spent in gym to allow others access to facility

COVIDSafe Considerations

  • Social distancing
    • Social distancing of 1.5 metres between persons within board shed
  • Wearing a mask
    • A fitted face mask must be worn at all times indoors, as per the Chief Health Officer directions
  • Maintenance of personal hygiene
    • Hand sanitiser: provided at entrance door for use by every individual entering board shed
    • Disinfectant: wipes provided to clean high contact surfaces such as door handle, roller door internal lock
    • Other considerations: – any equipment being utilised in the board shed to be disinfected before and after use. – equipment to be used by ONE person only – where equipment is not personal or allocated to an individual (therefore ‘shared’) the equipment must be disinfected prior to use by another individual (it is both the original user and the subsequent users responsibility that this occurs)
  • Maximum capacity of board shed = 2 (due to the limited open space available within the shed when full of equipment)
  • Use of QR Code system BEFORE accessing facility

  • Cleaning of area/equipment
    • Wipes and paper towels made available within the board shed (and when other areas of the Club open, cleaning materials are also available at other locations which can be utilised) for wipe down of equipment
    • Initial wipe down, prior to use, within the board shed is preferred (avoiding handling equipment which has yet to be cleaned by the individual)
    • On return of equipment, the clean would ideally be conducted outdoors to reduce the number of people within the board shed
    • At high use times (such as weekends / training sessions etc) a bucket of disinfectant and sponge will be made available for wash down of equipment outdoors
